125 the possibility to set up the functionalities of their automobile according to their own wishes. As a result, seamless and intuitive connectivity that render devices and fea- tures easy to use becomes a must-have: con- sumers will not use technologies that are too complicated. What’s next? Making everything smart. Arti- ficial intelligence will play an increasingly sig- nificant role in enabling us to improve and upgrade our solutions. Our products will no longer be static, but dynamic and predictive. The car will become a computer on wheels, learning and constantly adapting and improv- ing itself through data collection and experi- ence from its occupants. A revolution is taking place here and Faurecia is determined to help drive it. Agility is key to succeeding in this fast-paced world. For Faurecia to continue to play a lead- ing role in defining tomorrow’s automobiles, we not only have to anticipate different driv- ing modes and applications, but also develop the right know-how. In order to advance pro- gress, cooperation with other players is crucial. This can be done in different ways. Through Faurecia Venture, the group can take an equi- ty position in technology start-ups. Strategic partnerships with companies such as Accen- ture also add value. Growth, both externally through targeted acquisitions and internally through ongoing transformation initiatives, is also an important catalyst. And, behind our in- novations and visions for the cockpit of the fu- ture is a capable team and network of experts around the world, from Paris to California to Shanghai, to facilitate ongoing contact with Faurecia’s customers and ecosystem. Our teams work closely with automakers to better understand consumer expectations and antic- ipate trends and use cases in tomorrow’s car: What will consumers do in self-driving cars? How can new architecture be leveraged? How do we transform the occupants’ experience in a shared economy world? The key to under- standing is keeping the user experience cen- tral to product development. Use cases are developed through the use of market research and user panels to listen to the consumer. Our change is that we are becoming a B2B2C com- pany. n Faurecia www.faurecia.de Website David Degrange, Vice President Cockpit of the Future Project at Faurecia Publisher VEK Publishing Owner: Elisabeth Müller-Klock Am Waldfeld 34 C D-65812 Bad Soden Phone +49 611 949164-65 Fax +49 611 949164-7755 info@klock-medienpartner.de www.klock-medienpartner.de Editors Elisabeth Müller-Klock (Publishing Director) Rudolf Müller Clive Davies Proofreading Clive Davies Advertisement Manager Elisabeth Müller-Klock, Phone +49 611 949164-65 Graphic Fotosatzstudio Oliver Bauer www.fotosatzstudio.de Online-Edition Oliver Bauer Print Metzgerdruck GmbH
