The great experience in designing and producing complete cable systems makes HUBER+SUHNER a professional Partner for developing and manufacturing specific harnesses and demanding cable Systems for electric and hybrid vehicles. The company offers turnkey connectivity solutions, starting in the planning phase and followed by development of customerspecific cable system solutions, as well as the global production of small series, pre-series and large series. A number of production facilities worldwide offer the required operative flexibility.

Examples of customer-specific cable systems

• High-voltage distribution systems
• High-voltage adapter plates for power electronics
• High-voltage RACS connectivity  system

High-Power Charging

In 2016, HUBER+SUHNER developed a cooled charging cable with a cooled connector which makes it possible to fully charge electric vehicles in an extremely short time. This new system is ideal for the high-power charging stations which are currently being launched on the market. Currently, high-power charging systems operate with a rating of 50 kW and charging currents of 125 A which provide charging times of up to one hour for newgeneration electric vehicles. The cooled cable system allows charging currents of 500 A or more to be used. This means that charging times can be reduced to under 20 minutes with a thin, lightweight cable solution.
